Interesting question for a change.
A rock being far far away from being a developed consciousness (million of years far away) can not possibly have any sort of feeling therefore it is not possible to pretend that it will react as we would react if we are killed.
The millions of grains and dust that make up the whole rock have their own minute consciousness but in a almost total dormant or latent form.
It really wouldn't matter to them whether they are part of the rock or whether they are separate.
As the old saying goes...........NO BRAIN NO PAIN........so to conclude it is obvious that no one in this case will get the consciousness because the consciousness is not awaken yet.
It would have been even more interesting if you would have ask who get the consciousness if you cut a plant in two.

Nobody. Plants are not conscious. Rocks are not conscious. Specks of rock are not conscious. Honestly, I'm a little surprised that YOU are conscious, but I figure you must be if you've somehow figured out how to use a computer.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

You just remind me this poor donkey.
It goes around and around getting nowhere.
The brain is made of matter so if one type of matter can generate consciousness why
is not possible that all type of matter can do the same including the magic boulder?
But again to me the consciousness is not a product of the brain.
It is only housing the consciousness.
In any case are you a racist that believe that one type of matter is better than other types of matter?
What you do not understand is that the small get big as it goes in his journey to evolution.
The human brain is so much more evolved because it house a developed consciousness as that of a human being.
This doesn't mean that less developed consciousness can also be contain in less developed form of lives.
Oh, by the way i reckon that that poor donkey has more chances to get up in the evolution scale that someone who go on with swearing and talking bull.
Quote:Aw...does my fucking profanity fucking bother you, you fucking shitwallet? Considering that I have a consistent life/sexual partner and as far as I know we're both fertile, I probably have better chances to reproduce (and therefore "get up in the evolution scale," as you so eloquently put it) than you do. Where does that put you in relation to the donkey?
Red, unfortunately your total ignorance and arrogance prevent you from understanding how the system works.
To be fertile and reproduce has really nothing to do with evolution.
Animals ALWAYS go up and up in their evolution journey but man is different.
Man has the free will so he can go either up or down.
He can acquire or he can loose consciousness according to his thinking and behaviour.
Considering that you go around behaving like a smart ass the chances that you will acquire more consciousness are less than zero.
Quote:Interestingly enough, that photo is a great illustration of consciousness. The donkey, for instance, has consciousness. He has senses, nerves muscles, and a processing engine that can manage all that, hence he has the ability and will to act on his own. It is consciousness that allows the donkey to pull the wheel, and it is consciousness that allows humans to build the wheel and harness the donkey.
The wheel, on the other hand, is non-conscious. Even though it has moving parts and is made up of the same stardust as the donkey, it lacks the ability to sense data, the ability to move, and (most importantly) the ability to think/process data. It lacks these abilities because, even though it's made up of matter, it lacks the proper material systems to produce them. For the wheel to be conscious, it has to at least be able to think, if not act. Until we can observe that the wheel is doing something besides sitting there and reacting to the forces acting upon it, there is no evidence to suggest that it is conscious.
I point the finger where i explain that the consciousness can be in a dormant and latent state as in the case of matter and therefore it look like there is no consciousness and you instead look at the my finger and understand that the matter has consciousness.
Fail again Red.

Namely because consciousness is the result of a physical process, and as such needs a low entropy state and some energy.
As far as we are physically alive consciousness spring out but better say........is awaken by a combination of factors.
Our life is a combination of body-mind and according to me of spirit so all these 3 factors are necessary to
awakening the consciousness within not just your so called physical process.
What are the three factors you are proposing? Your sentence structure is atrocious.

I propose a cart pulled by 3 horses.
One horse represent our physical aspect.
One our mental aspect and the last our spiritual aspect.
Suppose that the cart and the horses are connected in such a way that
they all need each other.
If the equilibrium or balance is lost the cart will stop.
The cart represent our progress if of course it goes forwards.
Suppose again that you feed only the horse representing you physical aspect
or maybe also the one that represent you mental aspect but you let starve the one
representing your spiritual aspect.
What would happen?
Can the cart proceed straight with a horse that is left starving?
Of course it can't that is why a perfect equilibrium must be in place.
This is my philosophy.
You may think it is all rubbish.
Your choice your life.

Sorry about the sentence structure.

Ok?

You still have to demonstrate that your mental and spiritual aspect are not entirely based on the material process, but are in fact separate. I don't think you can.
