Alcohol 'more dangerous than heroin'

If people are so worried about fucking "Gateways" their primary concern should be removing the drug trade form the hands of criminal syndicates.

And as far as "Drug Gateways" are concerned, I had no interest in substances at all before Alcohol, then it was tobacco, and once I was good with getting wasted and taking plant matter into my lungs weed was an inevitable next step Tongue

Great little article about the so called "gate way" effects of weed.

I agree, pot or hash (practically the same thing) is the less damaging of the lot. And fun Wink Ahhh, good old times.

That shit will make you all FUCKED up.

Really, because i've taken it around 100 times, literally, and i'm none the worse for it, neither are the dozens of people who I know that have done the same (the entire psychedelic community)/

Not only that, but all of the major studies (you know the shit with evidence) found the same results.

theVOID Wrote:The question is whether or not they are banned for good reasons. I think it's fairly easy to make the case that 1) Making non-addictive recreational drugs legal will be largely positive 2) There exists a fairly atrocious and illogical double standard that can allow alcohol to be legal but not weed, LSD and ecstasy, all of which are less harmful in terms of social impact, physical health and addictiveness.

Who cares. They are banned substances.

I care, so do millions of other people who are threatened with persecution because a bunch of ignorant, historically motivated laws prevent me from smoking a joint after work while someone who has a few beers or a glass of wine is perfectly free to do so.

It's about double standards, and by definition they are unjustified.

If you want to do whatever the law currently says without having a mind to the contrary then that's your problem, but there are many instances of bad policy of which drug laws are only a tiny portion. Like all bad policy, it is the job of citizens to promote change to legislation.

Maybe you'd be better off in a dictatorship.

Is that an Argument from Authority I smell? I'm starting to think you don't have an original thought in your head.

So, before you going making stupid statements yourself, perhaps you should relate your answer to the thread.

Last time I checked all isn't a subset of the items on that list, but nice try anyhow kid.

America 1967 - Who cares about interracial marriage? It's banned.
UK 2008 - Who cares about blasphemy? It's banned.
Just about the whole world...2010 - Who cares about gay marriage? It's banned.

Maybe you hadn't noticed, but bans are lifted all the time, because eventually people realise they violate basic humans rights. People should be able to marry whoever the fuck they want, and say whatever the fuck they want. A ban is not a reason for giving up and accepting things as they are. Governments are not omniscient; they make mistakes. The reason people keep fighting for equal rights, despite governments of the world being against them, is because it's the right thing to do.

My country are still insisting on calling it "civil partnerships", which isn't the same...and it never will be.

RE: Alcohol 'more dangerous than heroin'
Same here, we have "Civil unions", thought straight couples can opt for them too... It's a bit fucking strange eh?

Anyway, here they are identical in every way but title, though discrimination through title alone is still not acceptable.

Really, so taking drugs just equals good times. Yeah, yheah, drugs don't cause bad things to happen, people do. Dumb, fucking people.

This is a load of crap. Taking drugs has nothing to do with equal rights. And had nothing to do with the answers you have given.

Maybe in your little World. See the Government is on my side for the time being.

Look people I really don't give a fuck what any of you think. The drugs are banned for a reason, becuase they are bad for you. Its not my fault people are so stupid they cannot control themselves.

If people were allowed to do as they pleased, what would the World be like? Where do you draw the line.

Anyway, one way or another, I don't care, becuase I don't drink, smoke or take drugs, and no matter what the rest of you sheep think, I am better of without them, or you. And before you say well fuck off, unless I break the rules, I am free to stay, unless of course this is a authoritarian forum. ;-) Like that one did you.

As I said all that shit will fuck you up.

ok, I give in, you win. See the strange thing is, I have taken the position of legalising drugs before. I have the ability to change my mind. Don't you?

Really, I don't care if it changes or not. It dosen't affect me at all.

It will be interesing to see what the future brings. Bla la la.
