But reality is other verses in Quran as well as reason shows we can be friends with other people then people of our faith. There are verses that state friendship was only forbidden to those who prosecuted the believers and fought them and drove them out of their homes. So the interpretation should be about Mastership and the last three words should be "while they bow". And act was signified when Ali gave his ring to a poor beggar while he came to people while in Salah and asked them for charity. Imam Ali moved his fingers and gave zakat.

This signifying those people who God wants us to be our Masters. As any member of Ahlulbayt would of done the same, he represents them who are form our true authority, that of God's authority.

I've managed to be friendly all my life without reading the Quran. I don't need anyone's encouragement or permission to do so.
