Incidents leading up to this.
Girl was on her cell. Teacher told her to put it away. She did. But teacher still told her to go to the administration office. She refused. He called administration. They told her to come out. She refused. They called the fuzz.

She did not do anything criminal to justify them calling the cops.

Little girl who was going through a crisis because she had just become an orphan.

Edit to Add: I have blocked several people, including a couple of relatives, on Facebook because they have tried the "blame the victim" game, saying she deserved it for disobedience, and the only reason the cop was fired and the Police Association refused to provide a lawyer to defend him was because the Departments are "bowing to liberal sensitivity". No sympathy, no empathy. Just totalitarianism- "if you don't want to be shot by police, don't piss them off!" (Also having issues due to the recent release of the cop who shot the 19 year old kid in the head during a drug sting because the kid tried to drive away.) Makes me want to choke people who say shit like that!

If you're strong enough to throw her to the ground, you're strong enough to just drag her outside the room. Some cops have no sense of restraint, and that's an understatement.

Or you can just ignore the petulant child and have the principle come ask to speak to them, like a non-psychotic, non-totalitarian human being would do.

Actually, one of my best friends (unfortunately, he's a devout Christian, but a good, open-minded and intelligent guy) is about to get his PhD in education, and he has worked as a temporary/replacement principle in numerous "failing" schools; it's what his dissertation is about. His work has shown that most troubled schools emerge because of that totalitarian mindset, in which the children are "at fault" for not submitting to "proper authority". Of course, if there has ever been a teenager who fully submitted to authority, I've never heard of one; that stage in human development, in which the young person begins to seek their individual identity as part of the process of becoming an adult, seems hardwired into most of us.

Jason's premise is simple: if the principle is in his office during school hours, he is wrong. That's what the staff and personal assistant is for. The principle's job is to get to know every child he can, and to make sure the teachers are reaching  those kids.
