Why so many "anti-feminists" in the atheist community?
RE: Why so many "anti-feminists" in the atheist community?
Basically if the guy is misogynistic and is also a virgin - regardless of whether you intended it as a joke or not - he seems to be hyper-sensitive at times so I would want him to feel ashamed for his misogyny rather than his virginity, that's all.

Jokes aren't intended to cause shame, but they can cause shame and when it comes to something bigoted I'd rather someone feel ashamed for their bigotry rather than something else.

Thank you for defending me Evie. I would also like to point out to SofaKingHigh that I'm not a misogynist and that is a misinterpretation of what I wrote and slander.

I'm not going to let you get off so easily; you still haven't apologized for being a total asshole to me, calling me names, misrepresenting me, etc., let alone your willful ignorance, arrogance, and condescension, which you continue to display despite your vague, broad apology for it (to whom, exactly?). I still think you're an ass, despite the fact that my fellows are willing to give you a pass.

Oh, and I see you edited down your quote from this:

Quote:Believe me, I would like to get along too. The idea that I was the sole instigator of the debacle that's been going on for the last 10 pages is insulting. That's completely irrelevant at this point though, I'm glad to see people trying to make amends.

You might not have been the sole instigator, but you were definitely the sole asshole.
Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

I honestly don't have the faculties to try to do this right now. I'm trying to move on, you really should too. Thanks.

I got the point of the joke but even if the reason he was a virgin was because he was a misogynistic prick, the virgin part wouldn't be anything to make fun of - it would be the misogyny part.

Quote:I don't honestly care whether you found it amusing or not mate, honestly.

I don't expect you to, and I honestly don't care whether you don't agree with my response.

Quote:That isn't to be nasty or horrible, it's just the way of humour.  Some people will chortle, some won't.  Some will choose to take offence, some won't.

I know your intentions were for humor, I was just saying my piece and how I felt about it. I didn't choose to feel offended, I just felt offended just as I am offended by some racist jokes or homophobic jokes too.

Quote:I ain't the one complaining dude, I'm about as over it as a man can be. :-)

I'm over it too, like I said I'm just saying my piece. So you aren't complaining that I disagree with you here and that I feel the way I feel?  Ok well if that's the case then that's cool and let's just leave it at that then and move on.

You're entitled to your opinion and you're entitled to your joke, and I'm entitled to my opinion and entitled to my response and how I feel about your joke. Fair enough?

Like I said, i couldn't give a tuppeny fuck mate.

Spare me the faux offence sweetpea.  I didn't at any point call you, or indeed infer you were anything of the sort.

I suggested that you go back to being a whining little bitch, which i see you've done.

Well done you.
