Why don't you ask them why they are concerned and try to compromise? I'm sure their concern is that you will get hurt. Speaking from the perspective of an "older" person, it is odd for a person that old to be interested in someone your age. Have you asked yourself why he isn't dating someone his own age? Maybe he is a really great guy, but really great guys typically respect parents and teens by refraining from viewing them as dating material.

well he usually dated guys in their mid 20s.but he loves me and tbh i love him

Are you too young,to have boyfriend?? No,of course not,but he's far too old. He would actually be arrested in every state of Australia, if the parents complained to police, which I would,in a heartbeat.

Context: I met my now ex wife when I was 30. She was 19. We got married when she was 20 and I was 31. The marriage lasted 12 years,then she left.

What happen? She changed/grew up. I didn't,or at least not as much.

To be as honest as I'm capable: The end of my marriage was the most devastating experience of my life..Not so much something you get over ,more something you learn to live with.

Judging by the half-your-age-plus-seven rule, I'd suggest you stick with boys from 15 to 20 years old. Granted, there's a lot of factors to take into account, including the age of consent where you live, and your own emotional maturity.
