As for my own feelings, alright. I went to my first 12-step meeting tonight, and came away with a positive feeling. Working towards sobriety is goddamned hard, and I'm glad to get help from people who accept me as I am.

As for the problems I'm having with my girl, I've come to understand that hope is a luxury I cannot afford, so every time it crops up I take it out to the back yard and put a bullet in its head. That way I will be prepared for any eventuality.

Where positive thrust fails, grim determination must forge ahead. But I'm not looking at getting through it at all. I need to learn to live in the moment again.
