Wasn't it Plato who said that music can be dangerous, because 'music brings about change' ?
Maybe that's why some Muslims are against it, embracing change and revolution means moving forward from the Dark Ages.

I think it would be cool if that dude did a song about not listening to music.
Self contradicting song. Prob be some funny stuff. Someone write one up please.
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

Ooooh! Where do I sign up?
Looks like it will just be full-time sex. Or did you miss that one?
There are many intelligent Christians, no doubt, but an "intellectual Christian", is surely an oxymoron.

Quran only muslims are not against the music because there is nowere in the Quran that says you can't play music. Its a hadith.
Sufis who still accept some hadith reject that one and they actualy worship with music. Killing apostates is also a hadith. For instance in the quran at sura 2 verse 256 it says that there is to be no compulsion in the religion. So its a comand from God(acording to Quran) not to force someone into the system but they still follow the contradicting hadith because I think those people that do are full of hate. Probably taught by parents and the surounding community.
Thanks

Ah, please everyone don't think that I am saying that only those muslims are angry. There are many angry atheists in this world. China executes almost as many people as the sharia countries and they have an atheist government. Look at North Korea.
There are a lot of angry atheists on this forum who can't stand someone thinking diferently than them. There is evil even were there is no religion and there is also good were there is religion.
Thanks

Like Ervin said, the Quran doesn't prohibit music.
There are some hadiths which say that music is bad because it "makes hypocrisy grow in the heart" and it is an "intoxicant for the mind" (or something like that). Regardless, the strongest opinion about music in Islam is that is preferable to not listen to music, but it is not haram (not strictly forbidden). So, we can still listen to music if we want to.

How do you like that..he says "China executes almost as many people as the sharia countries and they have an atheist government" because we all know EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN CHINA is an atheist, and atheist apparently always support communism. Hey bud, look at the "what is your political ideology" thread and you will see out of six pages of atheist only ONE communist. Also, atheism has NOTHING to do with politics. Islam, on the other hand, IS a political system. Its called "theocracy"..rule of the clerics. China doesnt execute you for NOt being an atheist..but saudi Arabi and other Islamic states WILL execute you and imprison you for NOT being a Muslim. China and Korea allows other religions to exist. ISLAM DOESNT, and they jail and kill people who openly worship something not of Islam.
THAT is the difference.

That's fine, but religion is a choice that I made and that's why I don't feel restricted.
