Existence of god is a truth or not - religion is certainly a choice.

If you choose to align yourself with a group whose leaders frequently say there is no choice...that's a different matter.

Not if you believe that it is the truth, if you believe in allah how can you choose to be a mormon?

Genuine belief in a religion is not a choice.

Belief is not a choice.

How do you like that..he says "China executes almost as many people as the sharia countries and they have an atheist government" because we all know EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN CHINA is an atheist, and atheist apparently always support communism. Hey bud, look at the "what is your political ideology" thread and you will see out of six pages of atheist only ONE communist. Also, atheism has NOTHING to do with politics. Islam, on the other hand, IS a political system. Its called "theocracy"..rule of the clerics. China doesnt execute you for NOt being an atheist..but saudi Arabi and other Islamic states WILL execute you and imprison you for NOT being a Muslim. China and Korea allows other religions to exist. ISLAM DOESNT, and they jail and kill people who openly worship something not of Islam.

THAT is the difference.

I meant that you can believe in a god, but you don't necessarily have to align yourself with one religion or another.

Or did you grow up in a Muslim household where Islam was pounded into your head from the time you could talk?

If it's the latter, then you really didn't make a "choice". Your religion was decided for you by your parents.

Yes they do. Im still debating with myself if I agree with the death penalty. Being a progressive makes it hard for me to support any death penalty, but thats for another discussion.

Yes..America does the death penalty..but not for being a certain religion or an atheist.
