The world isn't just USA on the one side and some hellish country in the middle east ripe with violence and poverty on the other.

I figure I won't live long enough for the penalty to have a net effect, so I got some extra money for three additional year. And my wives have always worked, so we're not doing bad. I have the VA, so I get free health care. Your aunt made a good move, I think, medical costs are absurd in this country. Or vice versa, of course. I've been to very awesome and very dangerous places in the US, at least once in the same day. I didn't say that it was. But I would still rather live here than the very real places I mentioned. Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.

Anyone would. That doesn't say much about America, though. There's a lot of places like America in that regard. You sound like you think America is somehow special in that. Well, guess what, it's not.
You could say it's better equipped to protect you as a citizen, given its military superiority, I think. But I don't know much about that side of things, so I'm not going to argue against that point in any way.
Judi was speaking about the USA, and saying how she would prefer to live there than some other countries, that doesn't imply at all what you suggested it implies, EP.

As usual, you take things someone says, way out of context because you read far more into it than necessary. Disclaimer: I am only responsible for what I say, not what you choose to understand.

To me it does. I don't see why she would point out such an obvious thing otherwise. No one argued that the USA isn't safer than the countries she's talking about. No one made that argument at all. So who or against what was she arguing exactly? We call that a straw man, I'm pretty sure.
