Oh yes, it is very considerate. Sometimes I am naughty and purposely don't flush it to prank my unsuspecting husband. Demon
How do you know it is morally good?

RE: My views on objective morality
OK thanks for your answer CL Smile

I didn't understand it, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Words like "spiritual" don't mean anything to me. I don't understand how morality is anything other than a judgement. I really don't know what you actually think it is.

And thank you for your kind words Smile I agree that psychopaths are problematic, and getting them to fit in with society is difficult. This is the one case in which I think religion has half a leg to stand on, but I still think there are better ways.

You could just cook with it.

This is all so horribly wrong. Other than in the mind of man or God, what is evil about slavery, objective or otherwise? Does it piss off the birds? The rocks? The universe? Do the stars cry for slaves, or black holes? Does slavery affect gravity, chemical bonds, or the resolution of wave functions?

Nah. The Christian definition of "objective" is just "things I feel extra strongly about." But, dontcha see, that's exactly the definition of SUB-jective?

Exactly. Universe state A becomes universe state B. How do you tell which is "better" without appealing to some sort of point of view? Until you do, it's all just a bunch of stuff.

RE: My views on objective morality
It takes away the inherent right of another human being.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

What if we genetically engineered a sub group of humans that truly wanted to be slaves?

And what effect does it have on nature or the universe or pretty much anything outside human civilisation?

Then your ethical standards would be up for review.

Are your ethics objective or subjective?
