Honest, certainly.

He's honest in a nicer way than I could ever be.

I'm glad he's been good to you.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

He's been nice to you, too.

Uh, no. Never.

I've never seen the need to give you the benefit of the doubt.   I take you at your words, which are disgusting.  Perhaps we would enjoy a different dynamic in our relationship if there was more to you, in that relationship, than your half-hearted and poorly informed catholicism?

You're still busily taking offense to my treatment of your statements, at my summary of you by reference to them...still ignoring your own statements, still ignoring the accuracy of my summary, still ignoring any potential for introspection. Do the things you;ve said about rape in this thread strike you as the sorts of things a decent person would say about rape? They strike me as defensive reflexes regarding your religious beliefs.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. See, he's being honest.

Yeah, I see that he may hate you.

I don't hate you, though.

I assure you, I am not. If you don't believe me, show me a post where he's being kind to me.

Oh god, the classic theists gambit, leveraged towards a decidedly more mundane end.  I'm a big giant meanie.  I;ve never been nice to you. I;ve said terrible things about your beliefs, your statements, and you.  Fine, but......

...am I wrong?

Which is more important in this conversation, in your estimation? My status as a nice guy, or your status as a rape apologist with abhorrent religious beliefs?

Meh, my honesty is about as important to her as her own.  I just don't feel like dredging up the last nice thing I said to her to make a pedantic non-point. Somehow, the subject of our current conversation seems a -tad- bit more important.
