I'd say it's made it much easier for people to continue to be bigoted. On the whole, I think it's a learned behaviour in modern society, but also seems to have a lot to do with fear of those who are different. I'd wager there's an evolutionary explanation for that.

Or are you one of those 'smart atheist' who does not understand the bible represents two completely different religions?
Christianity Per Romans 1 identifies Homosexuality as a sin (One among a list of many sins). and Per Romans two tells the christian not to judge/Act against those who sin as we are all guilty of this very same list on one level or another.
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven." -Matthew 5:17-20
Two different religions, aye, but Jesus says to continue following the old laws. Leviticus is part of the Law, no?

Something about It was finished or 'accomplished?'
(John 19 if your interested.)
what else you got? Cause it seems to me because their is a stark contrast between the life and rules of OT Judaism and NT Christianity would indicate an undeniable paradigm shift in the Rules and law. the primary being the acceptance of Gentiles. Where as OT law said one could only be born into favor with God.
If you truly believe Mat 5 applies now, how do you account for this paradigm shift in the law?

Fuck Romans 1, homosexuality is completely natural, nappy boy needs to get used to that fact.
Natural?!?!? Is that truly your guiding measure??? Think carfully, because Stealing is Natural, so is Rape and Murder! In your 'naturalistic society' is that some we all have to 'get use to?' Or are we expected to curb some of our 'natural' tendencies?

Can't help but notice that heaven and earth did not disappear after he died on the cross though.
What do you mean when you ask how I account for the shift? It makes perfect sense to me. Judaism was too literal to be a widely believed religion. It involved direct encounters with God, a God that is big on punishment and suffering, and the idea that one has to be part of a Chosen People in order to have a relationship with God. It is difficult for a religion like this to spread. But Christianity? Much more spiritual...now anyone can be with God! Your lineage doesn't matter but rather your faith! God is kind and forgiving! Much more marketable. Besides, it only makes sense that the writers include that, since disregarding the Old Testament entirely would've caused an even bigger ruckus

Um . .
er . .
uh . . .
doesn't Drich have to prove there AREN'T 40,000 schisms of Christianity ??
We're playing by Christer rules in this thread, aren't we ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

If you think to rape and murder is natural you are even more sick than I thought. And ring fencing homosexual people with rapists and murderers is offensive you fucking pinhead.

Can't help but notice that heaven and earth did not disappear after he died on the cross though. Read it again sport.
Mat 5 say the law shall remain till heaven and earth passes away, (It hasn't gone anywhere the unsaved are still condemned by it.) That It Will NOT Be CHANGED... 'till "it" is finished.'
Which again is what Christ did on the cross.
Christ crossed the threshold to 'change the law' on the cross, Which is why Christianity is not OT judaism.

now your moving the goal posts. You said their were 40,000 RELIGIONS supported by one bible, now you have changed your arguement to a schism not a religion. You always this dishonest?
