Atheism the unscientific belief (part one, two, and three)

Obvious yog.
But what if you try to sort out the problem by yourself?
Maybe it is possible but it is very much unlikely.
To cross the ocean you need a big boat.
You could swim but that is next to impossible that is why people need help.
You may well find the wrong teacher but there are no alternatives.
You got to try until you find the right teacher.
If you study as you said you should know that you need a teacher.
Books are also written by teachers and by people who have been there before so the question to
get or not to get a teacher is out of the question.
We all need a teacher to show us the way.
At the end unless you are an idiot you will know whether the teacher is good or bad.
Now you made a claim.
You claim that my teacher is a fool.
What about if i tell you that your teacher is a fool?
Do i know your teacher?
Do i know whether his teaching lead somewhere or nowhere?
How can i judge without knowing your teacher and what you get or don't get by following your teacher?
Don't you think is very rude to judge without knowing anything?
You think you are smart yog but the evidence tell me that you are just a fool that pretend to know
what you don't know.  Banging Head On Desk
You know absolutely nothing about philosophy about the difference between brain, mind and consciousness, next to zero about evolution and zero about the relationship between energy and consciousness and yet you deliver judgments based on guessing.
Don't you think is about time to look in the mirror and realize how weak you are?  Rolleyes

Hoo boy!  Look at all that sauce!

We were talking about whether you can know if total peace of mind is possible because your teacher says so.  No, you cannot.  Teachers can be wrong, or they can be outright liars.  That you trust Sarkar is no evidence that his statement is true.  Your trust means nothing.  The only way you know is by experiencing it yourself, or logical argument.  You haven't experienced it yourself, and your arguments were insufficient to the task.  Just because you failed doesn't give you an excuse to go around being rude to me, dicksmoke.

What sort of crappy judgment is this yog?  Banghead
What about if I tell you that what you study is all bullshit just because you still haven't got a degree yet?
Did you fail?
You don't have to reach a degree to know how good a degree is.
At the same time you know that the top in any human achievement  is a multiplication of what you already experience.
And if you experience a lot of progress you know that the top must be mighty.
Next question.
How do I know that the teaching i follow lead to the top of the top?
Simple.
The pineal gland control the top of the top so when you reach that stage you reach the goal of life.
Yoga is all about that.
As a drop of water reach the ocean and become the ocean also your small consciousness become the mighty consciousness by merging into the mighty cosmic consciousness.  Lightbulb

You tried this argument already. Now you're just repeating failed arguments.

It's like Chopra and Yoko Ono got wasted on crystal stupid, had unprotected sex in the most stupid way possible, then popped out the stupidest sprog in history into a birthing pool of industrial grade liquid stupid, isn't it?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Science has lots of answers and more information is coming all the time.  The only issue that science has not yet been able to address is the 'qualia' of existence, of which you cannot know anything anymore than anyone else.  All living things are aware.  This is simply a function of life that is necessary for continuance.  A virus needs to be aware of the DNA factory of a cell to reproduce and that awareness is nothing more than chemical reactions.

There got to be a motivation in order to start an action and this motivation is all about an expansion of consciousness.
Nobody waste energy for nothing.
Everything and everybody is on the move in order to gain something.
Chemical reactions are just consequences of motivations.

Quote:There is no reason to believe that we are any different.  Qualia on the other hand, is an awareness of our awareness.  A virus, however, has no brain, ergo it has no qualia.

A virus does not have a brain so what?
Motivations to expand do not necessary need a brain.
It is the desire to expand our consciousness that drive life in the universe.
And is not the brain that dictated so.
You are not the brain.
You use the brain as a driver would use the car but you are not the car.

Quote:The problem with qualia is that we cannot study it within the 'system' and we are unable to step out of the system.  It is impossible to completely know any system from within the system.  Qualia puts us in a position that leads us to believe that we are aware of reality when in fact, we are nothing more than 'brains-in-a-vat' and cannot know for sure that anything we perceive is as we perceive it.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.
You are so stuck inside the corral of physicality that nothing else exist.
Humans have something more that physicality.
They have the possibility to expand their consciousness to such a degree that everything is possible
but here i don't go any further otherwise we get out of topic.

Quote:What qualia is, how the brain generates qualia, why the brain does so, if the brain does so are all good questions for which we have no answer at this time.  Whether or not we can ever know is an even bigger question.
So, unless you can source some information that no one else in the world has, how can you even begin to suggest that you know anything of this system?  Anecdotes and 'scripture thumping' are not proof, evidence or even 'keyholes' to reality and the nature of qualia.

The brain is none but a vehicle that we need to exist in this physical universe but is not us so by giving
so much importance to the vehicle and not to the real I you will never understand how the whole system works.

Quote:So bring it on.

Energy and consciousness are the two sides of the same coin.
This is the relationship.
One can not exist without the other.
Evolution start from matter.
After millions of years the consciousness sort of awake from the latent stage.
That is why some matter release energy like uranium.
The energy was always there but it stay in that latent stage until the consciousness awake.
This is something that Darwin never considered.
Yoga on the other hand knew this all the time.  Lightbulb

Rik, I have to say, The one true god FSM is highly upset you still do yoga, He hates yoga and has told me to instruct you that you misheard his wisdom and he said yogurt.

May his noodles fill your heart, RAmen.

Giving up so soon? Wise choice.

Now about your evidence that the pineal gland has anything to do with consciousness. What is it? Wouldn't want to depend on mere dogma, would we?

I was just about to say that it'd be far too ridiculous ever to be published, but then I remembered Twilight and The da Vinci Code.
