You seem to have created some kind of warped straw man argument for yourself just so that you have something to pound your chest over. You're going on this, "who gets abused worse: men or women? Because believe me, it's MEN!" Crusade, when the actual problem we should be working to solve is, how do we as a society do everything in our power to advocate for ALL PEOPLE regardless of gender (race, sexuality, ect) having equal rights under the law as human beings. Frankly, making it a competition between men and women is childish, and completely missing the bigger moral question. Human rights should apply to all humans...hence the phrase...So, I'll ask it again: why do you take all of this so damn personal?
I don't understand your logic at the slightest. You countered my argument(that feminism is pointless and all claims of feminism had been false, including rape statistics.) with an argument(that historically speaking women were oppressed and men are privileged by showing an example of right to vote) which is unrelated to my original argument but I countered it anyway with another argument(that men were never privileged by showing an example of war) you then proceeded to conclude that we should work towards solving these problems (that existed in the past) regardless of gender and that it is pointless as well as childish to show lists of suffrage of men or women.
I don't get it.
As to answer your last question as to why I take this personal, I'm a man, a male by gender, it annoys me to see feminists generalize my whole gender as potential rapists, our whole gender as privileged that practically gets everything handed to them, it annoys me to see them not only form an idea that complimenting a women for her beauty is women hating but then proceeding to propagate this idea,it annoys me to see that these same feminists claim that women ARE oppressed and men the oppressors...I could go on but I regress.

You are male, but you are most certainly not a man.

Excellent, well done.
How many feminists does it take to change a lightbulb?
12.
One to screw it in, one to excoriate men for creating the need for illumination, one to blame men for inventing such a faulty means of illumination, one to suggest the whole "screwing" bit to be too "rape-like", one to deconstruct the lightbulb itself as being phallic, one to blame men for not changing the bulb, one to blame men for trying to change the bulb instead of letting a woman do it, one to blame men for creating a society that discourages women from changing light bulbs, one to blame men for creating a society where women change too many light bulbs, one to advocate that lightbulb changers should have wage parity with electricians, one to alert the media that women are now "out-lightbulbing" men, and one to just sit there taking pictures for her blog for photo-evidence that men are unnecessary.
I think my joke telling skills improved significantly since our last exchange.

They may have, but considering your starting point was as funny as herpes, that isn't saying much.
Here's one, just for you:

Entirely related, as your whole argument hinges on the idea that women were never oppressed in the first place and that feminism is pointless. My point about suffrage was that from a historical standpoint at least, women's rights movements were entirely necessary (not pointless, that is) for women to obtain equality as citizens under the law. I guess I was waiting to see if you at least had the decency to acknowledge that women's suffrage was a real, and necessary thing, even though you don't believe gender inequality exists in present day.
Quote:but I countered it anyway with another argument(that men were never privileged by showing an example of war)
This is not a counter argument. It's just you saying, "yeah, well men were treated like shit too, so there!" And yes, men WERE privileged in the sense that they had privilege over women; their bodies, their property, and their decision making. This is morally wrong. It is also morally wrong that men were forced to go to war, which lead me to my broader point:
NO PERSON should be forced or oppressed in these ways, regardless of gender (or anything else) so the fact that you constantly turn it into 'men versus women' all the time does nothing to help bring people to a common point of view. If everyone is arguing over who had it worse, then NO-ONE is acknowledging each other's pain, or how it came to be. How are we supposed to reach a common ground that benefits all people without empathy?!
Quote:proceeded to conclude that we should work towards solving these problems (that existed in the past) regardless of gender and that it is pointless as well as childish to show lists of suffrage of men or women.
I don't get it.
See above. My point was, competing over who has suffered worse prevents us from feeling empathy for each other.

Well I don't necessarily hold any of those views about men, so I guess all I can say is, I'm sorry if you feel that so many women have this misperception. It IS a misperception, of course. It sucks to be treated like a stereotype. Just keep that in mind when you assert things like, "all western women are now whores." As a western woman who is not a "whore," it annoys me to see you generalize my whole gender in this way.
