When said by anyone.  Why the fuck are you bringing skin colour into this?

I thought it was common place for African Americans to use this term in a collegial manner? Forgive me if I am wrong.

yeah, but they don't get that , they feel like they're appointed by god to defend his religion, like it's part of the life test.

I'll take your word for it, as I don't know that many African Americans. But the term is offensive, irrespective of the melanin content of the speaker.

But you miss the point. I was speaking solely about the girl in the video. She's clearly a racist, since she didn't bitch about lazy people, but about 'those lazy niggers'.

I understand your point of view, but being "offensive" can't be the measure by which we start throwing people in prison. I agree the girl has issues, but she only has a public platform if people choose to watch it. Some people would disagree with you about whether the term is offensive, or *always* offensive. It's a very slippery slope. Just being an asshole shouldn't be enough to land you in jail. Incitement or encouragement of violent behaviour is entirely different.

I'm fairly sure I never said she should be jailed for what she said.

But racism and "hate speech" are crimes, at least in many European countries.

Actually if Evalion's videos were "hate speech" (and FYI I don't think they were because she said things like "don't you hate those lazy niggers" rather than "don't you hate niggers")

How are two insults against a whole group of people good and one insult bad? This is as devoid of reason as your "Australia is the most multicultural friendly country in the world" comments a whike back.

Since I said that statement the Prime Minister himself has said it on no less than three occasions in the past two weeks.

Insulting people is not the same as inciting hate. But look, many countries have very strict laws on hate speech, and Singapore is one of them. AmosYee knows the laws of the land, and his comments absolutely qualify as "hate speech" if applied strictly. Just like Evalion - the only difference between the two is that he insults religion and culture and she insults ethnicity/"race" and culture. Both insult belief systems and value systems of others. Both believe their own belief system is better than that of other people. Both follow "facts" rather than evidence - this is a really important point to note. When you hear people - who aren't qualified - talking about "facts" they're giving you their unqualified opinion as if it represents evidence; and the reason people use isolated facts is because they don't agree with the conclusion of the evidence. It's absolutely fucking ridiculous.

But what's more is that this wouldn't have been a problem for AmosYee if Google enforced their strict anti hate speech policy. If they did that then there'd be no hate speech there for him to be prosecuted on. Again, my point here is that Google should apply their policy equally to anyone engaged in their definition of hate speech - not apply it one way for those hating on ethnicity, and other for those hating on religion. Read their own goddamned policy: it specifically mentions both are forms of hate speech!

If you were to say those things in Australia - it'll be tolerated and no one will listen to you or take you seriously. It's probably why I'm still quite certain that Evalion is just a poe - because the other conclusion is that she's just a really, really, really, really dumb bitch - and she doesn't appear to be that dumb. In the "trailer" video for her now banned channel I posted she clearly claims to believe in things like Lizard People as well as National Socialism. And the reason I think she's a poe is because we've largely embraced certain aspects of socialism into our capitalist societies that have been shown to be of great benefit - universal healthcare, equal-access education, etc., but that's not from an overarching policy but rather ways to improve a capitalist nation. I think she was just using that to get attention and go viral. So, to get back to my point - if you want to blame anyone for AmosYee being arrested for hate speech - blame Google for not deleting the content as per their TOS.
