Even not resorting to modern medicine kills people. Look at the theistic crazies who preferred prayer over medicine.

You're point being since when has prayer actually worked for sick people if it actually did we would no longer need modern medicine.
For the believers prayer does work. If they live god blessed them, if they die either god took them home or god said "they needed killin". It's an error free belief.

Prayer for theists only work when the doctors have accomplished their goals with medicine. That's not god.

That's OK, god created the antibiotics. It just waited 6000 years (8000 years?) to clue his children in that they were available.
