I agree with Napo. It wasn't as much of a steaming pile as Phantom Menace, but it was no better than Episode III. I think after enough time has passed people are going to look back and not think as kindly of Episode VII.

There's definitely another case of Phantom Menace syndrome in regards to Force Awakens, it's ultimately a commercial product cynically reiterating the cliff notes of A New Hope, but Ep. 7 is at least an overall functional film, which can't be said for any of the prequels.
