My cats LOVE turkey!
May 26, 2011 at 10:00 pm
My cats absolutely LOVE Turkey. They even go so far as to turn up their noses to everything but a specific brand: Hillshire Farms. Don't ask me why.
Pictured above - George the cat licking the taste of non-Hillshire Farms Turkey out of his mouth.
I dont know what to say. If they dont like it, then I don't have much of a choice.
Freya the cat getting ready to nap with her two favorite ferret boyfriends.. Horus on the left, Loki on the right.
Besides, if I dont do what they say then they will plot against me..you know..it's a weasel thing.
Turkey for the cats, chocolate covered raisins with peanut butter for the Ferrets, or all fucking hell will break loose!

Cats are bitches like that. I had two cats who I bought fresh fish for all the time. They never freaking ate any of it, but if they heard me open a can of tuna, they would not fucking leave me alone until I put the juice in their dish. They wouldn't eat the fish, though.

Ummm cats. Tastes like chicken.
How to hunt cats By Glo Bug
First you spot the furry critter.
Then make your move.
Grab it by the neck.
Give it a good shake.
Beat it against the ground a few times.
Make sure it’s dead.
Take the corpse home to mama.

Does George hosts yoga lessons?
Also, your ferrets are distractingly cute...

George is not currently taking pupils at this moment, nor was he ever. He is a grumpy old goat. Wel call him a goat because when he is grumpy he meows with a bit of a chatter..like a goat; "Meo..a.a.a.a.a.a.ow."
Those ferrets are my boys...I call them "my pups" because they follow me around like a bunch of puppies. Licking my ankles and begging for attention, play, and treats. They are VERY social and love human attention/interaction.
Here is one of my females..
Introducing: Isis
She is deaf, and has a few birth defects from too much inbreeding, but she is the alpha female (ferret societies are usually dominated by the most vicious female) and she is one HELL of a mouser. We live near a corn field, and we usually get mice when they sprout. Ever since we have Isis in the home the mice have been near non existant.
Isis - "I'm not sure what this thing is, but it will make a great addition to my secret hiding place!"

Isis is growing up I see...
She must have one hell of a nose if she can catch rats deaf.

Is deafness as common among white ferrets as it is in white cats?

Ferrets rely on smell 1000 times more than any other sense. Their head is basically one big nose with fangs.
Their ears, on the other hand, are very basic and not as important to their species as taste/smell is. Deafness is much more common in Ferrets than other species, being a burrowing animal, and most especially with the white ones and albinos.
I stomp my foot on the floor and she comes running to me and attacks my toes.
...we have learned to work with her being deaf..it is sad though. She will have a good life with me.

It’s amazing what we do for our special needs pets. Holland Popeye (why I’m Popeye’s Pappy), the hound in my avatar is a special needs dog. He broke each of his hocks in separate incidents while he was a racer. When we adopted him he was still wearing a cast. Now that he is older one of them is giving him a lot of problems. We have a hell of a time keeping him from running on it.

Thats what greyhounds love to do..run run run. Thats why not everyone can handle them as pets.
Perhaps there is some kind of happy medium you can find where you just expect the pain and aching to come and try to work with it as best as you can...quality of life over quantity of life sort of thing?
Its not like you can put the dog in a walker or something, or give him a crutch.
