He wasn't trying to coerce the people who are already voting for him. The alt-right is already excited to see their ideas legitimized. His goals---according to his own campaign, were to convince moderate Republicans who are wary of voting for him. In that aim, this debate was an utter failure. His disposition was in full highlight, and he was clearly childish and easily provoked, which was the very claim he was trying to rebuke.

As was pointed out on RTÉ Radio 1 this morning, a person who has the temprement to lead a country wouldn't have to protest so much that he has a good temprament, it'd show. And the laughter that Hilary's two word put down of his bluster provoked showed that a lot of Amercans understand this.

That someone is able to hypnotise all our politicians, left, right and center, to believe to be in a bathroom when a certain keyword is used. To drop their pants or urinate against the wall at the most embarrassing moment. When all the cameras of the world are focussed on them.

I have nothing but contempt for them all - apart from a select few. This would be the most apt punishment for their transgressions.
