Look at how with in just a decade or so we went from "don't ask don't tell" to legalizing gay marriage. This was done in large part by playing word games.

If this culture of perpetual victim hood is allowed to deem someone a rapist without due process, then one given the right media hype we could have riots and worse loss of the idea that the citizenship is to be considered innocent until proven guilty. Take rape out of the equation and plug in something like murder. Then lets say I or the government accuses you of murder. In a society where one is guilt until proven innocent You will be remanded and detained as if you are a murder despite any innocence or guilt.

And two it can give the victim a false sense of complacency when reporting a crime. (which speaks to the OP's point)

Thank you Losty.  I just don't have the patience to wade through one his word walls of self deceit anymore.  Nothing I find there will be of any use to him because he is only capable of outputting words, not inputting them.  So what purpose would my attention to that word wall serve.

I already asked you a question. Provide a source for your specific definition of rape . . . a reputable one. That's all you have to do. You don't even have to type anything. In fact, I'd prefer if you just dropped the link in a comment here.

You're almost at the point of making a well-reasoned argument here. I disagree with the slippery slope from victimhood to violations of the Constitution, but I do very much agree that even rapists are to be considered innocent *by law* until proven guilty in a court of law. That said, being found innocent in court or not being tried is not the same thing as being innocent. I'll not go through that piece by piece, though. I don't want to distract from you sourcing your definition of rape.

In short non consensual sex in non prosecutible 'rape.' (for the lack of a better term.) Rape is a term that describes a criminal act. if the government can not prosecute or hold an individual accountable for this alleged crime then it the term rape does not apply.

So basically the way you see it, the word "rape" is purely a legal term used by the government. Such as murder.  

But you still think non consensual sex is the same act and just as bad, right?
