Lol, it's not that's it's politically incorrect. It's that it's the go to red herring that bigots use to try to distract from the fact that they're being bigots.

Not saying you're a bigot BTW.

Then you will be perfectly fine in president elect's new republic, since he promised to end political correctness.

Wow, ok then. Holy crap. Apparently all you have to do is say "Muslim is a religion not a race" while still completely disagreeing with their discrimination, and you're already called out as a Trump supporter of some sort.

See, this right here is the problem. If anyone dare say anything even remotely veering off course of the liberal narrative, even if it's a fact, such as "Muslim is a religion not a race", you get shut down and put into a box.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

As I said before, we don't make that distinction. With good reason as it seems. The english language opens up just too many rat holes to retreat behind when challenged.

I never would have expected you using that kind of argument. Repeating it a thousand times doesn't change the fact that you stooped to that level as well.

Well then we need an "ism" that refers to discrimination of people based on religious beliefs.

I'm in shock that I "stooped to a level" in your eyes for merely saying Muslim is a religion while completely agreeing with your sentiments on Muslim discrimination. It's ridiculous.

Because it's semantic shit. Step back, for fuck's sake, and reflect on it. The fucking SENTIMENT is the same. Did I make myself clear?

No, it's not. It's disappointing on my part, but certainly not any more ridiculous than any weasel using semantics to wiggle out of being challenged as a bigot. You're rushing to their defence at the moment.

Kind of macabre that we find ourselvs in this situation, really.  We're sitting here discussing our bigoted president and the people who -made- him president, worrying about their feelings.

Well, it isn't their  feelings I'd worry about............

We on the left blame the media too, but not for the same reasons. He doesn't like criticism that is why he does it. When we talk about the media giving him way too much air time and unduely so, it isn't that we want to stop free speech, but more along the lines of "are your profits that worth it to have him in office", well now we know, the answer is yes. But the media should be warned, we had a blacklist past by force of government in the form of the McCarthy era. Unless the media wakes up, and soon, the way Trump has demagogued and scapegoated, they have to know he will try to use force of law to silence them. He has a majority congress and SCOTUS pics that could in the long term if he got 8 years, do just that.

I'd urge everyone reading this to take this very seriously and not just pass Trump off as an act. He may quiet down verbally, but the way things are shaping, he wont be passive.

The rise to fascism starts by silencing the press.

Right, the sentiment is the same, and I agree with the sentiment. You're the one freaking out over semantics and calling me a Trump supporter and saying I'm "stooping" simply because of semantics. Not me.

The post where I pointed this out was not argumentative or angry. Thus my saying "you're killin me smalls." It was supposed to be a little bit of a tease. That's it.

Racial apathy is the new racial antipathy.  It's been the Gentleman's Racism for a few decades now.   It's the driving force behind:
"I'm not a racist" -I just vote for racists alot.
"I wanted the economic promise stuff" - I don't care enough about the other stuff for me to withhold my support.
and the fun new wrinkle;
"The other guy was worse than racism" -How bad is racism anyway, isn't it, like, over since Obama?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

And yet you felt like going down that road too. Well, it's kind of horrible, but X, Y or Z is not a race. Does that sound correct?

You're making the perfect asshole's case and you don't even notice. That's not a tease, if you followed what is going on. It's simply defending bigots taking that semantic road out of taking responsibility. That's what I meant by apathy and complecency.
