Only then do you go into statistics to try to show that the fear is insignificant. And never use the word xenophobic.

I'd say having a better command of detailed facts is a gross understatement. It was more like her opponent didn't care if anything he said was true and peddled obvious falsehoods and unproven conspiracy theories as truth. And you wonder why people say Americans are stupid...

Okay. I understand that things like the Sandy Hook shooting, Dylan Roof, and the Colorado theater massacre make you wary of young white men...Oh, wait, they don't! Funny how that works...
And now I have to spell out the emotional plight of refugees? Just knowing that they're being massacred by their government and chemical weapons are being dropped on children isn't enough? This is why you're called unreachable.

Consider how that worked for Hillary. If she had said something like With terrorist attacks here and in Europe it's understandable that people are scared, so we need to work with them to understand the actual magnitude of the risk involved, instead of basket of deplorables, she might have won.
