It's impossible to know with certainty what happened in the past. But there is no credible evidence to suggest such a thing happened. Even if it apparently did happen, there are many more reasonable explanations than "it was magic". Laughably, the only accounts (which are just anecdotes anyway) were written by people who were likely not even alive at the time of the event. For some reason no one thought the event noteable enough to record it for several decades afterwards.
I always want to know why Christians, who have already assumed God (Jesus) created the whole of reality just by speaking it into existence, are at all impressed by standing a dead Jew up again. Surely he could do better than that. He didn't even bother sticking around to solve any of our problems, he just fucked off again.

I possibly can be your "Huckleberry."
Okay, are you talking about a godly figure born of a virgin on December 25th, where he was attended by shepherds and was considered a great traveling teacher
and master? Did this godly character have 12 companions, or disciples, and where he promised his followers immortality, and as an added attraction to prove his
godliness, he performed miracles? Additionally, the person in question allegedly sacrificed himself for world peace, was buried in a tomb and after three days rose
again and was seen by his disciples?
Furthermore, is the godly person you’re acquiring about, identified himself with the lamb, was considered to be the “Way, the Truth and the Light,” and the
“Logos,” “Redeemer,” “Savior” and “Messiah,” where Sunday was celebrated as the day you worship this godly entity?
Is this the individual of your debate, subsequent to him being arisen from his three day tomb nap?
.
Hello new person. Would you consider an introduction thread?

Is that a "yes", then? If so, then I will start a new thread in the Philosophy sub-debate forum. Please reply.
No, that was in response to 21stCentury's post.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

The answer to the OP's question was both. Seemingly right after the resurrection the people who first saw Him did not recognise Him. However several days after those who did see Him (including Thomas who put his hands in his wounds) Did recognize Jesus.

Catholic Lady,
Damn it! I thought you would enter the ring with Jehanne on this most entertaining Bronze and Iron Age topic , especially knowing that you've swallowed
the Catholic Kool Aid, where if you can accept the celestial impregnation of Mary, hell, you should be able to discuss Jesus' modus operandi of taking
a 3 day tomb nap and being arisen to walk amongst his disciples!
A lost opportunity of some more pseudo-christian Vaudeville.

Drich,
Barring the SNL skits of the of the alleged Jesus' resurrection scenario, if in deed Jesus was alive subsequent to him being "hung," then how is the term,
Jesus died for your sins to be understood? A real sacrifice is that you remain DEAD! One does not come back from a 3 day tomb nap and then
become ALIVE AGAIN to be considered as one that ACTUALLY DIED for mankind's sin! 2+2=4.
JESUS: " Okay, I died for your sins, but I am back now from dying and walking around with my homies, but you're still to think that I died for your
sins nonetheless, okay? If you can believe this type of thinking, then let me run this biblical axiom by you, I, as god incarnate, celestially impregnated
my own mother Mary through godly incest, not only to be my mothers son, but my own father as well, plus a bastard child though true Hebrew tradition
because Joseph was not my paternal father. Are you going to swallow this too? If you believe this as well, then stay tuned, I have a lot more for you to make
you look like a fool for being a Christian!
Unfortunately, the Christian ruse continues into the 21st century of science and reasoning.

Catholic Lady,
Why am I not surprised with your comment? This is because in how I speak uses logic, reason, and biblical axioms, whereas you being a Catholic,
are not used to this type of talk. lol

He's a genuine original. None of us have ever come up with any of these arguments. I am amazed at his intellect.
/sarcasm.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
