You responded to me saying the thought that he's a Muslim is an assumption, but you weren't talking about my thought, or the thought of the BBC source, you were just talking about this abstract thought that someone somewhere was having?

so I'm not making the assumption he's a Muslim, neither is the BBC, who was it who was having the thought that was an assumption?

Perhaps you should reread the discussion? I'm certainly not going to repeat myself for your benefit, given this further demonstration of your incomprehension. You can go back and find my reply and perhaps, if you read the person's screen-name, figure out who it was.

That's a fair request, I can copy and paste where I'm talking to you about the assumption he's a Muslim and you're replying back to me saying my assumtions mark me and say a lot about me.

So first it's an assumption that marks me and you were taking about even if MY assumption is correct. then you never said I made an assumption.

So who was it that made an assumption? Thoughts don't work independently of a human body so which person was it?

Turns out the real suspect is now a Muslim Tunisian asylum seeker not a Muslim Pakistani refugee.

He was refused asylum, yes. Germany tried to send him back, but Tunisia said he wasn't Tunisian.

Given that, I reckon my point stands; he's only a suspect, and the thought that he's Muslim remains an assumption.

Ok and I also wasn't promulgating any assumption since it was never an assumption.  The BBC were informed this person was a Muslim, this information was out there. They researched information provided to them by security services. Effective correct evidence was there. I was promoting informed, correct, information about this suspect being a Muslim.  He was known to have links with German Jihadist groups.
