Sentenced* I should proof read before I post. If a mod could edit that typo for me it would be most appreciated. I'm not sure how to do it.

Dylann Roof has been sentenced to death for the murders of the nine black churchgoers last year.
Not usually a proponent of the death penalty but eh, no sad loss.
mod note:
per request (thank you !!!!) typo fixed. Anytime, just ask!
Thanks for updating, whoever did

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie

I don't see what the advantage is to killing him. He's already behind bars where he is no longer a threat to society.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I'm with C_L.
Lock him away forever. I don't like the state murdering people.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I don't think there's any particular advantage, but I've got about zero -point-zero fucks to give about this guy.
I'm normally against the death penalty, but I won't keep myself awake worrying about this murderous bigot and his untimely demise.

I was hoping he would fester in prison for 60 years or more.

If the church will pay for the food and everything he will need for the rest of his life I see no problem either.

{wow, have written and deleted 2 strongly worded, diametrically opposed opinions to this}
The gist of both:
the 'system' contriving to spare Roof makes me nauseous
WWMLKD . . . .
Jesus fucking Christ
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
