Another problem with the slavery argument is plenty of civilizations banned it only to then restate it so e have to take that into account but as I said the real credit goes to civilizations that didn't practice it in the first place

End of Portuguese slavery; I'm basing it off the Portuguese port of Zanzibar being the most notorious centre for the slave trade in the Indian Ocean until it's annexation by British forces in 1890 as part of the Minto Plan.
However on closer inspection it appears that the slave trade ended there in 1873, that may be because the European customers dried up around that time, though I think the Ottomans were still trading.
The Portuguese were signatories to the Brussels Conference Act 1890.
