an all too common one I hear at 12 Steppers:

long suffering wife finally goads drunk hubby into rehab/sobriety, and then realizes she doesn't like the 'new and improved' version and initiates a divorce. And then not too long after finds and marries another active alcoholic . . .

So accounts like that straddle single/married worlds.

Most annoying things about marriage? Mother in law comes to mind as a strong front runner. Any conversation that starts by "I need to talk to you".

I was married for ten years.
Best part: When we hung out with our two kids all together goofing around. Best thing ever.
Worst part: Having a partner, yet feeling completely alone. Being insulted all the time.
Much worse part: Once the divorce starts happening, a side of him I never knew came to light, and it has haunted me ever since.

I have been single for a bit now.
Best part: Im alone, but LOVE my company. I love silence (on the days I don't have the kids). I love to hear myself think. I enjoy taking myself out on dates. The kids don't have to see us fight 24/7. I get to date other people.
Worst part: I want affection and I don't have it half the week when the kids are with dad. I want someone to cuddle with.

Even if I weren't Christian, I wouldn't like sleeping around with people I don't care for, if that's what you mean. It's just not in my personality lol. I don't know what else could possibly be so great about being single that I wouldn't have an even better version of while married.
