That's a good point that I think gets missed.
Obama did not change his mind on wanting to bomb Assad for using gas. His mistake was following the constitution and trying to get congress to approve of military action in a foreign nation before launching an attack. And for the record, I think it was dumb of him to draw the red line in the first place if he was not willing to by-pass congress as many presidents have done. 

And you are also correct that a hypocrite like A Theist would have attacked Obama for not going to congress and yet congratulate Trump for his courage in not going to congress. The exact same political action elicits condemnation or praise depending on who does it.
