My Swag is your swag, m'lady. I'd be honored if you'd take my name, and, as you know, I am not constrained by traditional gender roles.
Only if I can haz some dragon eggs as a gift that day. Three, please. Thank you. Oh, and Nanners gets to sleep on the pillows. Enough of sending him to the foot of the bed! I have spoken.

Oh it would be volatile and it would burn out quick. But it would be so beautiful those who look at it would weep.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Yes, I'm sure I would... but not for that reason

Do catholics have/make pools on how long the marriage will last? Only been to protestant ones.

I've only been to a few Catholic weddings, mostly been to Protestant ones also, but it wouldn't shock me if people were betting on that. Both of my cousins are Baptists, for instance, and had zero booze at their weddings, and as far as I know, zero gambling on who was going to break up.

People are human and stupid. I doubt they all make pools regarding everything, especially weddings. That is more of a cinematic fantasy that you might just find under Snopes.

Can I just say that you are my best friend and it hurts me to think you are so shallow. How can you sit there and tell me I am being petty for wanting a separation of church and education? You do realize I find you actually stupid and hypocritical when you talk about Jesus and love and then in the same breath scream profanity at your child? I'm just being honest... I think you need to really learn the word indoctrinate.

I haven't been privy to any of that. Interestingly enough, the priest who married me and my wife had the nerve to be surprised (and say it) when he saw us a year later and we were still married. We celebrated our 36th anniversary last February. Excellent judge of character, that guy.

Wait.
You and your wife are married to a priest?
How does that work?

This thread is far more interesting than I remember! Think I'll hide out in the back and eat the snacks. ^*^
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
