Wondering what to think of this ingenious viral commercial by a German grocery chain, showing the recital of a dramatic poem invoking the manly primal instincts of hunting for meat and grilling it, contrasting it with the "neutered" politically correct vegetarian bbq-ing that is supposedly going on in today's German suburbia which in the final scene is invaded by all the meat-loving history. Especially as a vegetarian, I find it very effective and daring, especially since in this day and age, celebrating manly man's meat-gobbling manliness is not exactly en vogue. I LOLd, although the meter is not always perfect, nor the lip-synching by the otherwise impressive British actor.

Not much at this moment in time, just catching up with the news and lurking the forum. Fossils have been discovered that suggest humans could have originated from Europe instead of Africa.

Interesting but I doubt they were anatomically modern humans that long ago, more likely another kind of "Homo" species. Possibly ancestors of the Neanderthals maybe?

From what I've heard, the evidence does overwhelmingly point ot East Africa. There's more genetic diversity among sub-Saharan Africans than there is between all the other "races" (so basically, Europeans, Asians and Native Americans are all more genetically similar to eachother than different African groups are to eachother). This suggests they've had much longer time to diversify.

You might be correct but who knows? I suppose these recent findings will warrant more research and perhaps more information will be released in the future. Experts seem to be very divided on this topic.

Just finished arguing with a five year old about the importance of saying "please". He refused over and over again. He decided to say "porfavor" instead. #cantwin
