Amazing movies that are terrible biographies

RE: Amazing movies that are terrible biographies
So this isn't exactly what you asked but my sister won't let me watch the Disney Hercules with her anymore after taking a mythology course in high school. Apparently going "Pffft Hera did not have Hercules she tried to kill him" and other 'sassy' remarks are unnecessary during a children's movie about things that never actually happened. lol

Hey, that fits right in. She's right. Disney does horrible biographies. Pocahontas? What the fuck were they thinking?

Haha, see, I can enjoy them, but know that Disney just writes random shit and names it after historical characters.

Blasphemer!  You claim to be an atheist and yet know not Rob Stark.  Do you not read?  I'm sorry, but I am going to have to report you.  In fact, you're a mod, I'll report you to you.  Please flog yourself immediately.

This is Vorlon you're talking to ... self-flagellation is probably a regular occurrence on the farm.

What happens in the staff Jacuzzi, stays in the staff Jacuzzi (at least until the junior mod cleans it out).

EDIT: Hah, the source quote is great.

Quote:In 2009, the film was second on a list of "most historically inaccurate movies" in The Times.  In the humorous non-fictional historiography An Utterly Impartial History of Britain (2007), author John O'Farrell notes that Braveheart could not have been more historically inaccurate, even if a "Plasticine dog" had been inserted in the film and the title changed to William Wallace and Gromit.

Funny!  The same actor was responsible for a movie every bit as inaccurate historically by non-fundamentalist standards anyhow.  I never saw The Passion of the Christ but it has to be a lot of malarky.

Wink

Commodus in Gladiator-  Yeah, he was a baller who fought for amusement in the arena..and there the historicity ends. Just and well loved, strangled by his lover and trainer...Narcissus (a wrestler)....in his bathtub...or during the act of coitus..take your pick.
