1000 years (just for fun)
If you had to pick between one or the other, would you travel in time 1000 years into the past, or 1000 years into the future? Why?

- It would only be for one day

- You are guaranteed to not get hurt at all in your journey

- No one will be able to see you
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

RE: 1000 years (just for fun)
Honestly, I'd like it if people did see me. But that aside, I guess I'm a bit of a futurist, in that I want to know how things will be in the future. Especially language and related issues. I love language, including conlangs. Will English be recognizable as such, or will we be in a new era of English?

ETA: Not sure I could handle going back in time. Primitivity (at least as I percieve it), scares me.

The future. Because I have an idea of what the past was like, but the future would be a surprise. Hopefully it wouldn't look like "The Handmaiden's Tale."

It would be nice if it was like Star Trek the original series.

Future for sure for me. I'm super curious of what it will be like. 1000 years from now is a super long time and I'm sure things will be totally different. The more technology we have, the quicker it advances, so I know that the difference between now and 1000 years from now will be much more extreme than the difference between now and 1000 years ago.

There will be things we never even imagined before. Pretty crazy.

If I don't get to do anything in the past can't I just go back there with a history book?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Past!!! I have no interest in the future and I don't trust all the history books. lol

If they can't see me, then the future... for curiosity's sake, but if they can see me, then the past... I'd bring some tech with me... an iPod or something... and see them treat me as a God for a day Wink

Location is important.  I wouldn't be in Ireland in 1017 for love or money, but either China or Byzantium would be cool (between the two, I'd prolly pick China, just to secure the lifetime option on moveable type).

The future?  Nah - nothing ever happens in the future.

The future. The past is guaranteed to suck, but the future is an unknown tossup that could go either way.
I don't believe you. Get over it.
