The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason.
Okay, okay, I guess I'm going to have to give the movie It Comes At Night another shot.

If you’re the kind of person who likes the kind of modern art where someone places a pair of glasses on an orange box, or a smashed up toilet, you’ll probably love it comes at night.

Yep, dumb characters. I was really: no, don't get out there! Go to f'in space and let it die. Also magic-bean-like aliens...
The Godless Girl (1928, silent film). This movie was part of a film collection titled Treasures III: Social Issues in American Film, 1900-1934 (I got it off Amazon). Regarding atheism, The Godless Girl portrays it negatively. In particular, IMO, it seemed to suggest that atheists are closeted theists who are just waiting for a particular experience or miracle in order to become believers.
On the whole, I enjoyed the commentary that the bickering and hostility between extremists of atheism and theism ultimately leads nowhere: IMO, patience, inquisitiveness, and open-minded, constructive dialog are requisite in order for both camps to reach a consensus and establish common ground. With that said, I'm looking forward to watching the rest of these films. Live long and prosper.
