I can't quantify these things. 27 dead people is horrific. 4 dead people is awful enough. 1 person shot dead brutally is awful enough. None of this should ever happen, but it does, because this is the kind of world we live in, depressingly.

I think it will either end after a nuclear war that ends everything . . . or after a distant transhuman utopian future that solves everything worth solving. Basically I think eventually technology will make or break us and we certainly can't rely on the good of humanity, sadly. I can't imagine a political utopia, I think politics is always going to be bad. I think science is our only hope but depressingly it also gives us more powerful tools to kill each other.

Also by coincidence, this shooting happened on the 8th anniversary of the Fort Hood shooting. Just on the news: The shooter is a 26 year old white man by the name of Devin Patrick Kelly. Thought it was also said that he may be a veteran.

Not confirming he's a veteran yet, but it's assumed at this point.
