Because, quite apart from firearm deaths being the topic of discussion, guns are one of the few items that cause grievous injury and loss of life when used exactly as the manufacturer intended. We've been over this.

Perhaps you should state what your goal is here, and what your proposing to solve it.  

If your goal is for less homicides, then it would seem that my question was legitimate, and calling me a moron is not very productive or mature.

Americans own 1/2 the privately owned guns in the world. The US has 4.4% of the world's population, and 3% of THAT group owns half the guns. It's a very small dumbographic.
