I've never been someone to go to the gym for exercise.  Now that I'm doing it regularly, I know what you mean.  I go out of there feeling kind of virtuous.  Plus at my age, one only gets as much vigor and stamina as the effort you put in .. and you've pretty much got to make frequent deposits.  But my dogs appreciate the difference.

I gained a solid 20lbs while in school for my MBA.

I also really love food and really hate moving.

I love moving, but I also love food, and have to stay seated for work all day. I can't seem to win, but at least I'm not coming in last.

Well I got the green light from my doc to start exercising now that I know what the MRI results were with my knee.

This is the time of year that can be extra difficult because we have three feasts - Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner and then pork and sauerkraut on New Year's day. I will have to be extra mindful this year.

I hear ya Joods. My birthday is on Thanksgiving, and I'm having (gluten free)birthday cake along with the Thanksgiving stuff I can eat with having Celiac disease. It's going to be tough not exceed that 2,000 calorie limit for the day.

For Thanksgiving my only plan is to put together a reasonably sized plate and eat slowly enough that I feel full by the time the temptation is to eat more.

We're not hosting for the first time in ages.  My brother and his wife will cook the turkey and get everything else but I'm making mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry relish along with a quart of store bought gravy.  I plan to only bring home one more serving for the next day.

It will be tough, but I don't intend to abandon all restraint.

I'm hosting. It'll be hard to restrain, given that I love to snack while I cook at home. I never did when I was a professional, but I do it here.

Yep.  And once I deliver what I'm making and package up one reasonable serving for later, I can leave the rest behind and get the hell out there.
