Note: I mean the Marxist-Leninist ideology to be more specific.
I would contend that the ideology known as Leninism has little to no resemblence to communism as Marx and Engels envisaged, apart from the words used. It was simply straightforward toltalitarianism cloaked in the colours of proletarian liberation.

I mean, look at what happened to the Soviet Union back in the 20th century.
We need Socialism, not Capitalism or Communism.
Yo do realise that communism was simply a means proposed by Marx and Engels to ensure the implementation of socialism?

To be honest it hasn't been tried in practise. The day Russian communism died was the day the Bolsheviks marginalised the Soviets. And every "communist" regime after that followed the Russian lead.

I would contend that the UK and US are about as democratic as the USSR was communist. Both cloak themselves in the language of deomcracy, but use the substantial forms of oligarchical political systems (the US is a flat out replication of the Roman republic in the new world, just found a new way to give the patrician vote the most weight).

Well, they lifted the idea from the Bible. Let's save a little precious wood chipper time for God for coming up with that bad idea in the first place.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

You're going to ignore how many times Castro was targeted for assassination by CIA? It is said to be "the most" ever, more than 600 attempts. The advancements I mentioned Cuba made on the educational and Healthcare front were all made despite heavy push back from capitalists and blocking every attempt of Cuba to grow and develop. The most deaths Cuba suffered were under the military dictatorship of Batista(guess which country backed him). Things to keep in mind.
Any excuse will do.

You won't get an argument from me there. Well I'm not familiar with UK politics. But the corporations buy the candidates through campaign contributions. The biggest sellouts usually win because they have the most money.
The dems are a bit less bought off and so they try to do something halfway decent from time to time. But overall the wealthy and corporations get what they want.
Even with the ACA, which was an improvement we still have the private insurance companies price gouging everybody. We just had regulations on how the money they brought in was spent (less on CEO bonuses and such)
And they had to explain to a comittee why they're price gouging.
The fact that everybody has to buy private insurance I'm sure is making them loads of cash.
Our healthcare and country in general can only improve so much until we have truly clean elections.

It works for me.
The trick is to delineate between public and private ownership, division of labour (resource optimisation) and avoiding a Pareto distribution by not aiming for a flat distribution (enforced equality) but through multiple overlapping bell-curve distributions.
Also, key to success is to purge any member of the commune who exhibits Autonomy-ethics unless they can adjust to Community-ethics.

You assume those will peacefully just walk out? or purging means elimination?
If a system is good, then it's applied almost everywhere... where would those "Autonomy-ethics" people go?
That seems to me to be unfeasible without ending up in a dictatorship... so... no, thank you!

I dont understand. Thats the party of the Soviet union under Joseph Stalin, where hundreds of thousands of people had their rights stripped away from them and were killed. Am i missing sarcasm?

It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

They do peacefully walk out.
As they say ... "if you can't change the people, change the people."
It happened just this week. We had a conversation about ethics and she agreed that she wasn't psychologically ready (fit for purpose / use).
The Autonomy-ethics people can go to where they have a "my freedoms are more important than your freedoms" state-of-mind e.g. USA.
It is a dictatorship when it needs to be e.g. Disaster Recovery scenarios. But it's also multiple overlapping dictatorships as per recognised areas of expertise.
Communism is about policies/procedures/framework and culture/ethics/behaviour not organisational structure.

In the Antebellum South thousands of people had their rights stripped away from them and were sold.
But a serious student of political history will tell you that Stalinism is to communism as military music is to music.

Ok, there's no way you're being serious
