Yeah, everyone is fine. There was an electrical fire in the basement, the fire department came and did their thing. Sadly,I had to return to work.

I would have been in bad shape if the building had burned down, my only set of keys to the car I drove to MAX today were left on my desk.

Never leave the boat. A corollary- never leave the house without your keys. That would include "office" as a substitute for "house".

Watching L.A. continue to burn. There is a new fire around the Getty Center in L.A. city proper. The 405 is shut down both directions between the 10 and 101 freeways.

I commuted through the Sepulveda Pass for over 25 years. If one finds out that is is closed in time, one can divert to the 5 south or take the Pacific Coast Highway, which I've done more times than I care to count.

Having another hard night. I feel like I'm on the verge of an existential crisis.... Or a depression. This is a bad time for my parents to go on vacation and for me to be left alone to pet sit. compound this all by it happening in the middle of winter when it's dark and cold and rainy every time I'm out.

Gonna watch Survivor. Haven't done so in a few weeks, but apparently there is some drama tonight.

Friday, maybe catch upon older episodes.

Second of five holiday concerts is a wrap. Currently drying some laundry, drafting a holiday letter to a friend of the family, and munching any stray bits of junk food that are unlucky enough to cross my path. Just put a nearly-empty bag of Cheetos out of its misery and am looking at a tin of toffees with sinister intent.

Just got back from a school excursion to the Gold Coast.
Fucking hot day.
The surf life saving club put on a demonstration of the flags and set up a few beach activities.
Good surf, had to watch the little ones, a few rips about.
Only one child was stung by box jelly fish and a few by sea lice, including myself.
Not a good look escorting kids around with an itchy groin.
Had a sausage sizzle in the park. had a good day although I'm not so sure if I'll volunteer next year.

LL, did you see the boy full of blood from the sea lice a couple of months ago on the news... Unbelievable...

You know what made me laugh from your post?.... You mentioned itchy groin and your next words were "had a sausage sizzle"... I genuinely thought you were still talking about the sea lice on your other sausage!
