But I don't trash Christians.  The great majority of Christians whom I know are perfectly lovely people.  I trash Christianity, a crucial difference.

It's unfortunate that many people seem to fall into the trap of making discussions and critique of their belief system, religion, ideology etc personal. Dolhpinetics rearing its snout yet again. But that's their problem, not ours.

Too right.  Years ago, I happened to mention to a Catholic friend that I thought the doctrines of the church weren't particularly suited for the modern world.  His face fell like a paralyzed falcon and he practically wailed, 'But Catholics are good people!'

Missed it by a mile, he did.

GC himself has a number of peachy qualities.  It is only when the apologists here become preachy or condescending that my appreciation of their being good people suffers.
