Admitting You're a Sinner
RE: Admitting You're a Sinner
So you use the bible to verify the bible, and cherry-pick data to fit. This is where I came in.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Cherry picking to fit the data goes on all the time. I'll do it at the drop of a hat...and I have to discipline myself to the English language. This is where most religions can't read.

I put a lot of effort into finding out what the difficult passages mean as well. Of course that doesn't guarantee that I am out of the dark.

There's the possibility that I have a weird slant on the whole Bible, but as with all life learning, there is an element of trust too, that I'm dong my best.

Judging the Bible by its own claims will include comparisons within the natural sciences of the world, genuine history etc. This is where there is a massive conflict with what people believe.
And these areas are open for rewriting and defining - over and over again. Part of that process is considered to be in the scientific method.

And what do you do when the bible doesn't agree with reality?

The bible was not written in english. Jebus was one of those swarthy people. You do have a weird slant on the bible. You do spend foolish amounts of time trying to interpret the ravings of primitive goat-herders. The bible is deeply unscientific and should be rightly judged on it's crackpot claims. You don't understand the scientific method.

Had you other questions?

A = a, B = b, etc. Some people would call that circular reasoning.

There is no evidence that A = a is there?

Some people would call this drivel proof positive that you still don't understand what circular reasoning is.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.

I leave it in basket "C."
"A" is true, "B" is false, "C" is waiting for further info.

I'm betting basket "B" is enormous.

By reading the Bible and the whole consequences of that in my life.

Give it up, Cyberman. Even if you have read the entire bible there is no way you're ever going to know the whole consequences of his having done so. Therefore unlike Banned you'll never know what Christ said.

Geez. I've read the entire bible many times and the consequences are irritation and aggravation.
