Is long term monogamy unnatural for human beings?
I have my own opinions on this, which I'm sure people here can guess what they are just by looking at my username lol.

I'm curious to see views from people of this forum.

Please try not to get all technical (big pet peeve of mine lol). Just vote a simple "yes" or "no" for whatever would be your initial response to this issue. Discuss!
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I don't think so, no.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I think both monogamy and polygamy are natural for humans. But I definitely think they're more monogamous than most animals.

Not as monogamous as, say, swans, though.

To be clear I voted "no".

Um... and pedophilia is natural for pedophiles. Rape is natural for rapists too, rife in nature in general, and was probably selected for by evolution, but neither rape nor pedophilia are good: and somehow I think we're getting a bit off topic?!?!?!?

I don't think being sexually attracted to babies and children is natural lol. I think it's some sort of disorder or mental illness in the person.

Why is it that monogamy means being faithful to one person, but polygamy involves marriage. One is not the opposite of the other.

Both monogamy and polyamory are natural. In the same way that both heterosexuality, bisexuality, homosexuality and pansexuality are natural.

Polygamy has to be for dire situations like taking care orphans and widows during a time when many men in society have been killed.

Otherwise monogamy has to be the norm, or you get guys like me left out with no women to find Tongue
