teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I sure hope everyone works through their hurt feelings and petty resentments about what happened to their favorite alternative candidate in the last election cycle, before we go into the next one. I think we need some message points to keep before us here:
• Camelot will not be on the menu.
• Democracy done right requires prioritization and compromise. No one gets everything they want.
• The status quo we had was so very much better than that which we have now. Don't let this happen again.

We need improvement, not status quo. The fact that the last two presidents who ran won campaigning on change while Hillary ran on status quo proves that. It shouldn't surprise anyone that voter turnout is low when the Dems have nothing to vote for. Only against. The fact that they haven't learned their lessen only pours salt into the wound.
The republicans aren't interested in compromise. Just recently the dems offered everything the repubs wanted, and only asked for DACA. They couldn't even get that. So where's the compromise coming from, except the Dems moving to the right?

*my bold*
That is a given. But that is why it is important that those who oppose them compromise as much as possible to form a strong alliance. Getting all pouty anytime a pet issue isn't enthusiastically embraced only helps the republicans hold on to power. They have no scruples but they have the team thing down cold. We need to get more of that without becoming them.

Progressive groups are uniting. Just not with sellout corporatists. It's not about being pouty. The dems are failing because they sold out. What is there to compromise? What do they have to offer that's worth compromising on?

I was going to suggest bandying about the rumour that he's a religious lunatic bent on destroying personal freedom, LGBT rights, and civil liberties.
Then I looked him up so, you know...never mind.

I'd rather be collaborating with corporatists than with Trump. I personally would prefer to have a more socialist leaning democracy but I don't at all mind sliding to the right some in order to avoid what we have now.

Nice tune but I'm too thick to get the connection.

Working with corporatists means working towards oligarchy. Not democracy. That's not going to help anyone who isn't already a billionaire.

Almost won?
She beat him by 3.7 million votes in the states which actually had primaries. That was more than she beat the WLB by.
She beat him by 400 delegates before the superdelegates were even factored in.
What are you going to tell me next? That Trump is almost honest?
Give it up already. Your boy got his ass kicked by a boring candidate.
Smells of blaming the victim there. Bernie, regardless of his merits or lack thereof deserved a fair primary process. Additionally, his supporters should have been viewed as a resource (in exchange for input to the party platform) instead of as an embarrassing problem.
Bernie has a better case against the party than the party has against WikiLeaks and the Russians. At least we finally know Pérez's strategy for winning the 2018 elections; litigating the 2016 election.
Yeah, I don't follow the logic of that either. Maybe a theist here could trot out an explanation for it . . . .
Because JESUS Hillary !!!
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
