Yet another noted effect of god belief on perception "outside of god".   People internalize harsh criticism of some god belief and/or rationalization as a comment on ones person.

Awfully fucking telling, if you ask me, lol. Insult god, and the believer gets upset in it;s stead.

lol, you're quite full of yourself.

The golden rule is that you can attack ideas but not individuals although some
times the individuals think that an attack upon their ideas is an attack on them

Probably, but I;m not sure what it has to do with anything you quoted?  Are you unaware of the phenomena or it;s explanations....presuming that this is me just sort of winging it from my swivel chair, lol?

That'd be another of the universes great ironies..as you present a case example.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, there's been a lot I have asked you/directed at you that you haven't addressed either.

Consider this, the manner in which the god beliefs you;ve expressed present themselves..just here with us, and just in this thread, already suggests that they've lead you to believe ludicrously funny things about atheists, atheism, the availability of knowledge, yourself..................words............ and other peoples appraisal of your person or general interactions.  That;s a cascading wave of failure on multiple fronts.

All this, despite your conjecture that god beliefs need not indicate that a person has flawed perception "elsewhere".

Again, entirely unrelated to what you quoted..but if I missed something you could always ask again and clear whatever that is up. Sup?

Not sure how you are concluding that because I don't think at least half of those things even have anything to do with my belief.

Just look at where I have asked you questions and answer those to begin with I guess.

Nah, I;ll pass.  I don;t plan on playing "find the question".  If you want to know something that you don;t think has been fully addressed, figure out what that is and just ask.

How hard can that be, lol?

That's fine, if you use certain definitions for words. But that doesn't stop him being necessarily a theist or an atheist by our (common) definitions. So he would be carrying over a sizable chunk of people he's referring to as atheists (or theists) into his middle-ground camp, without acknowledging this. It's a tactic I've seen many times before (possibly due to misunderstandings, possibly not, but once this has been pointed out, that excuse disappears). It's a way of trying to feel superior to both sides. He's assuming all atheists take a stronger position than they necessarily do.

He sounds way more like a theist than an atheist to me as it happens, but as usual, the word "God" has no coherent meaning so the point is moot.

My beliefs don't have to do with thinking I am superior... at all. I simply believe what makes sense to me. I don't get why you are essentially punishing me for having a view that kinda sorta (but not really IMO) ties a belief and lack of belief in God. I think as others have said, my belief isn't something that is unique to anyone else necessarily and if I did think that, I would probably be better at having a view that others do not have.

You've been condescending to just about everyone since you got here. You've broad-brushed all sides, with heavy implications that you are special. I'm just observing your behaviour.

If you've now found a bit of humility then that is great, and I'll appreciate the change going forward.

If I'm totally wrong and you didn't mean to come off that way, then that's fine, I accept that. I'm just giving my perspective, for your information.

I do not mean to be condescending at all. I can kinda sorta see how you could see that, I guess?

I'm an Enneagram 4 (451 tritype) so thinking I am different is part of how I cope.

Like I said, you came charging in with all sorts of generalizations about people. Your first interaction with me was bizarre, and you were needlessly antagonistic (ironically while complaining about other people being the same) while seeminginly having me all figured out already.

It seems like you've now realized that your pre-conceived ideas about atheists were off the mark, and the push-back has made you more thoughtful. I hope to see that continue. I'm glad you don't mean to be condescending; I don't either. I call things how I see them, but I can be wrong in my assessments.
