Because taking a human life, and murder are two completely different things.

This is true even on the level of Man. In the form of the state declaring war, or executing a criminal, or in a liberal state allow abortions. lest you think all women who've had abortions are murders...

So then how is God restricted to make the distinction between murder and killing if we can do the very same thing?

One would think if one heard a voice commanding one to harm another human being, that one would not obey such a voice/command. Unfortunately, irrationally, if one suspects it to be a holy order, one becomes to blind to reason. Why is that?

Would the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life change your views on/belief in god?

Question for the Christians: Do you think the faith/reason dichotomy is a dichotomy that makes any sense?

That's the foolish perception one who knows nothing of God automatically assumes... God is a disembodied voice making irrational commands.

Why is that such an obstacle for you guys to get over after all his first words on the subject happened 1000s of years after the first murder when God appeared before moses (aging him in the process) and hand wrote commands not to Murder.
