Actually, if god were said to be unobservable all along, Christianity would have been merely total garbage, ie something with much better reputation than it has.

Christianity claimed all along that this and that are all menifestations of god, thus assertimgngod to be observable in order to steal observability from other phenomenon in order to aggrandize itself. Only when science made clear that all Christian assertions can be falsifiable, did Christianity per force retreat to “god is unobservable this not subject to falsification”.

All along Christianity has been singularly defined by its determination to lie, cheat, claim undeserved credit to the utmost extent possible under any contemporary zeitgeist in order to aggrandize itself.
