You're close.  That's a weaving Lia made of her mother right after she died and gave to her dad.  She was a social worker, then a mother of four and finally a teacher.  I don't think she much liked being a mother as much as the other two things.

My nine year old also sleeps on her back with one fore paw stuck out as if giving a salute to hitler, but I don't see her contorting herself as Smoke does in this photo.  It does seem to be something the kids are more likely to do.
