Isnt there one day of the week that its ok to be gay in the middle east? Gay thursdays maybe?

Apparently, the church had such a problem with this supposedly "innocent" gesture that the NIV changed it to say the disciple was merely reclining near Jesus. That's not a reinterpretation. Those are two entirely different things. How easily god's word can be fixed when too many eyebrows rise over what it says.
Was Jesus is the real question. His sexual preferences are left to the creators of the myth!

Sure, just look at the Sodom and Gomorrah incident or as Jesus likes to call it Operation Eliminate Homosexuality.
God already knew Sodom and Gomorrah was full of homosexuals and yet he decided to go there himself with couple of male angels to check it out for himself. That is basically three guys visitng a gay club. And when the angels returned to heaven did god/Jesus congratulate them on job well done by being so distractedly handsome that gays in Sodom wanted to rape them?
Not to mention that God/Jesus is constantly surrounded with angels who are muscular men with wings, dressed in short white robes, all of them quite handsome and fit. So not only is he gay but very selfish gay who doesn't want to share his guys with other gays.
Also Heaven was just a void, nothingness floating over water and then Jesus started decorating it to be gaudy and colorful and fabulous with gold, marble statues and half naked muscular male angels everywhere.

Was that intentional?
In so far as one might imagine there was truly a real Jesus who exhibited real and accurately recorded behaviors which can be fruitfully analyzed for evidence of a real underlying sexual proclivity and psychology, I would say that evidence alone is inconclusive.
Whether an individual behavior consititute evidence of homosexuality is heavily dependent on the cultural norm. Russian men traditionally kiss eachother on the cheek as a show of familiarity. In russian culture this would be considered polite behavior. In American culture the homophobia would consider the appropriate reaction to this to be a fist to the mouth.
If we don’t know in detail what the social norm for friendly behavior is, A single behavior would be a flimsy hook upon which to hang an assessment of homosexual inclination.
Well, if you want to get technical.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
