My late mother was a mostly lifetime voting republican, and I think most here know how much I love her and still miss her. But on issues of economics and politics, she drove me crazy, because she would agree on 99% of what we talked about, but shut down when I asked her, "If you agree with me, then why do you still vote for that party?".

I will give her credit though, she did put her foot down with Trump. She voted for McCain and Romney, didn't like Hillary, but voted for Bernie.

It shocked the shit out of me. But I lean to thinking that some of my arguments got to her.

Several months ago, I was in a dollar store, standing behind a lady that said she was a teacher, buying supplies for her students. I could tell she was a republican when she gave me a dirty look when I said, "That shouldn't come out of your personal paycheck, the tax payers should be paying for it."

I'd like to see the 1% get taxed up the ass, but that's not an option. Democrats have proven that they're not going to do it either.

I want the top taxed similar to the post WW2 tax rates that built the middle class.

If always letting the rich do what they want worked, and less regulation worked, there would never have been a Great Depression, or Bush's recession.

REAGAN unwittingly started our pay gap explosion by starting the era of deregulation. The GOP has controlled that narrative since. The only thing our politicians can be accused of is being held hostage by the GOP. Our voter apathy in that 36 years in midterms also has not helped.

Democrats DO NOT want Castro's Cuba or Stalin's Russia.

We want FDR's New Deal.

And why cant we tax the fuck out of the rich? All that takes is putting more butts in congress willing to do that.
