This is hardly the result of high technology on the part of the Egyptians. ANY simple figure in anything roughly like a lens shape (a pyramid qualifies) will focus E&M radiation for some part of the spectrum.
Then explain why the same isn't said of the other pyramids?
The desire to get headlines? Read the actual article: they very clearly state it is a theoretical treatment based on size, shape, and composition. They are purposefully making it seem more dramatic than it is. That alone is a good reason to be skeptical of their motivations.

Most of the stones were quarried on site...there was your first mistake. Those stones that had to be moved were hoisted with a tripod crane onto a flatbed trailer which was pulled by a tractor. The man he hired to do the work was..nevertheless..as impressed with his efficiency as you are now.
